I can't get my Asus P5E based system to POST. I have four of the 1gb 8500 Tracers in there. Memory upgrade for ASUS Motherboard, and all ASUS Motherboard Memory. Find memory for ASUS P5E Motherboard. This motherboard supports the latest IntelR Core?2 processors in LGA775 package. It also can support IntelR next generation 45nm Multi-Core CPU. I've read a lot of talk in various forums which seem to point to some kind of incompatibility issue with the P5E and this memory but I haven't seen anything conclusive. Asus P5E Ballistix Tracer 8500 (BL12864AL1065.16FD3) Can anyone tell me if there is or is not a compatibility problem? The system has been fine for a year. Around three months ago I started having problem with POST from a cold boot. Download geneious. Several resets would result in a POST and subsequent usage of the machine was fine. I thought maybe I had a bad stick of RAM so I took them out one by one until I thought I had found the issue. The system then ran fine on 3gb for 2 months but then I started having the same issue with cold boots again. Just like before, several resets were needed before the system would POST. Several forums suggested clearing CMOS so I tried that yesterday. Now the system will not post period. I've tried each memory module individually in each slot and still the same behavior. I'm currently trying to find someone with some other SDRAM I can borrow to see if it's the memory or the motherboard. But in the meantime please let me know if there is a compatibility problem, or if anyone else has had experience with this. As far as I can see there are no compatibility issues with these parts and your motherboard, especially since they worked ok for a year. The problem is more likely down to something in the system developing a fault, possibly the memory but it is unlikely for all four to fail at the same time. If you are able to get some other DDR2 memory to test in the system and let us know what happens it will help our troubleshooting. Has anything else changed in the system round about the time you started having problems? Do you have appropriate case airflow? It seems unusual that the system is not posting at all now so please make sure that the CMOS battery is reseated properly and nothing else has been disconnected. If you can get the system booting with other memory, it would be worth checking that you have the latest version of the BIOS and then testing the Ballistix modules again individually with the following settings: DDR2 PC2-8500 (1066MHz) 5-5-5-15 2.2V If it seems to be a problem with our modules you can contact us to arrange an RMA.
